The weeks are flying by!
It seems like just yesterday we started our first day of school. Now, in a few weeks, we will be done with our first nursing class/labs/clinicals and moving on to the next! It has been a good experience so far and I am starting to get the hang of things. I am still waiting for everything to click when I go into clinicals so I won't keep having to check my notes and make sure I am doing everything correct step by step. It will just take more time and practice. I am glad that I get a 4 day weekend, although I have to work. It will still give me an opportunity to catch up on some reading and do the nutrition project! I am learning so much so fast!! I am trying to stay on top of things so that I don't fall behind! Good luck to everyone who has clinicals today and tomorrow!! You will do great!!

Midterm Exam
I didn't do that well on the midterm. I did alright, but it wasn't my best. I second guessed myself too much and most of the ones I missed I still think that my answer is right because it could have gone either way depending on the way someone thinks. I'm ready to move on and do better next time. Clinicals are on Friday so I am glad I get a day off and pretty excited for the actual clinical. Hopefully I will get a patient who is understanding that I am a nursing STUDENT and have never really given someone a bath before! It will be an interesting experience however I can't say that I won't be pretty happy when I can delegate the dirty work to someone else when I become an RN. For now, it will be a good experience for me and will be humbling as well. Hopefully I won't be as nervous as I was last week going into the clinicals for the first time, but we will see.

1st Clinicals
Thursday was my first day of clinicals. I was definitely nervous going into it. I have not been in a hospital setting very much and no one in my family is in the medical field so I didn't know what to expect. Once I was there and had gotten used to my surroundings and my patient, I was able to relax and enjoy myself. I think that in the future clinicals I just need to have more confidence going into it and to remember that I am there to help others who really need it. This is just the beginning and I can't wait to see what the future clinicals hold. I can only get better from here as I learn more and more about nursing! :)

2nd Week of Nursing School
I have just finished the second week of nursing school. It has been great getting into the swing of things with classes and labs that we have going on. Nothing has gotten too terribly difficult yet, but I know that this is only the beginning. I have really enjoyed everything that we have learned so far in classes and labs. We just learned how to do vital signs, and I have been practicing on everyone I know. Taking blood pressure is the hardest for me to do, but I am working on it. My sister is coming home from college for the weekend and bringing some friends with her. I told her to be prepared for a checkup for her and all of her friends. Hopefully I will get much better at taking blood pressure. I am excited about clinicals starting next week, but am a little nervous because I don't know what to expect. It will be a very interesting experience because it will be the first time that I will actually be able to attempt to take care of people in the hospital. Overall, everything has been going well so far. I'm excited to get started with clinicals and the rest of the nursing program! :)
